Our first meeting of 2023 was held at the Aviator Pub & Restaurant in Cleveland and member consensus was that this venue is the perfect place for our meetings in 2023 -we are so grateful to have “landed” this wonderful place! At our first meeting of the year we heard three wonderful presentations from our members. Casey Martin presented Seed Yoga, Ellie Bricmont presented the Village Project and Alane Mastandrea was able to showcase Urban Bridges/dba Envision Cleveland for a second time, and this time our members voted to support this organization.
Our donation of $10,300 will specifically be supporting the Shop Vocational Training center and program located in Cleveland’s Mt. Pleasant neighborhood. The center sets out to provide training to people of all ages in construction trades, mechanics, farming, culinary skills and the arts to provide residents greater opportunities for ongoing education, and long-term job success. Their shop on Kinsman Road is currently being renovated and our donation will help support their goals of including a full wood shop, mechanics shop, a small commercial kitchen and studio spaces to be used by people of the neighborhood.
