Q3 2011: We’ve Completed Our First Year

July 21, 2011

Our fifth quarterly meeting of 100+ Women Who Care – Cleveland Metro was a HOT day in Cleveland!  Literally, we had not seen such a hot day here in July in the previous 16 years! But we ventured our in our air conditioned cars, to the air conditioned Marriott and voted to support the St. Aloysius Pre-School Project that was submitted by Katie Holzheimer. St. Aloysius, a catholic parish in the Glenville neighborhood of Cleveland has been working hard to convert their on-campus convent into both a pre-school and an aftercare center for the children of the neighborhood. The center will be open hopefully by the end of the year to all kids ages 3,4 and 5 in the neighborhood, not just to catholic families. The 100+ WWC group turned over $10,625 to a very excited and grateful, Sr. Jean. The funds will be used to finish outfitting the building with new windows.

Also presented at the meeting was the Harmony Park project, presented by Jan Thrope and the Epilepsy Association presented by Amy Kellogg.
