Q3 2018: Supporting Adults with Learning Disabilities

July 2, 2018

At our annual July Member-Guest meeting we welcomed several new members and learned about three great charities. Our membership voted to support The LD Edge Network presented by member Holly Roe. The LD Edge Network is a network for adults with learning disabilities, offering affordable diagnostic services, workshops, tutoring and other intervention practices to help elevate the educational levels and workplace skills of adults in the Clark Fulton neighborhood of Cleveland. They also offer training and professional development specific to disabilities in adults to the educators who teach them, all with the goal of increasing the employ-ability and quality of life for these adults and their families. Our chapter donated $14,150!

We also listened to member presentations from Mary Jane Miller as she presented Ronald McDonald House (specifically to support the Ronald McDonald Family Rooms in Cleveland areas hospitals) and from Shari Caruso who introduced Special Spaces. Thank you Holly, Mary Jane and Shari for your presentations and I encourage all of you to check out these special charities!
