Q3 2025: Multiple Breed Rescue

July 18, 2025

What a meeting! We had a great turnout in members and a few guests, and we heard about three wonderful charities, which were selected from a ton of submissions!

This quarter our selected charity was Multiple Breed Rescue, presented by Sharon Behringer. This amazing organization takes in dogs and other animals that would die without their intervention. They help spade/neuter and recuperate them and find them forever homes. They rescue approximately 300 animals per year, mostly dogs, but also rescued 56 chickens from a cockfighting ring this year! Our funds will help cover veterinary bills as well as supplies, food, etc.

We also heard from Holly Roe, who presented Radical Hospitality. Their mission is to address the urgent needs of Cleveland’s unsheltered population while laying the groundwork for sustainable, long-term solutions to homelessness. And our last charity was Rising Heights, presented by Debby McClain. Their overarching global mission is to develop an affordable, faith-centric, co-housing & wellness community for multi-generational neurodiverse children, adults, and families. They are also piloting a refugee caregiver training program focused on giving refugees critical work force skills and job opportunities.

Special thanks also goes out to Apex Skin, who sponsored our happy hour.

Other housekeeping notes:

  • We’re looking for future happy hour sponsors, with preference given to local, woman-owned small businesses. If you know anyone interested, send them our way with an email introduction.
  • We’re going back to the fishbowl in 2026. Based on survey results, we’ve decided that we will no longer select charities in advance. You will be able to submit them in advance, but we will draw names at the meeting. We’ll announce Q4’s selected charities in advance, but that will be the last time.
