Q1 2026: Big Hearted Blooms

January 20, 2026

Despite a cold and snowy day, lots of members joined us for the January meeting of 100+ Women Who Care – Cleveland Metro, including a number of guests and new members. January is usually the least attended meeting, but our wonderful group turned out this year!

This meeting was our first going back to the “fish bowl” method of selecting presenters. That meant charities could be entered online prior to the meeting, but we selected three by drawing names in person. The selected charities were BigHearted Blooms, Seeking Stillness Ministries and The 24 in 24.

Our winning charity, BigHearted Blooms, was presented by Kristen St. Pierre. Kristen described their mission of collecting flowers that might otherwise go to waste and turning them into something joyful for residents of care facilities. The group, which was started in 2018, has a small annual budget of $100,000 – $130,000, so our $10,000+ contribution will go a long way in funding their operations.

Our other presenters were Deb Griest, for Seeking Stillness Ministries, which offers busy women opportunities to spend concentrated time with God through various live and virtual events, and Anna Dey for The 24 in 24, grant wishes for Northeast Ohio children battling life threatening illnesses by facilitating a physically demanding 24-hour challenge involving running 24 miles over 24 hours.

Our 5:15 happy hour was sponsored by member Holly Roe of Navigate Risk Advisors, which is a full-service independent insurance agency. Holly is licensed in home, auto, business insurance, commercial property, group health and life insurance. She’s helped many nonprofits and churches with their insurance needs and would love to help 100+WWC members!

Other important news:

  • The Schultz Family Foundation has ended their matching program for 100+WWC giving circles as of this quarter. We thank them for all their generous contributions over the years!
  • We are adjusting the charity submission form to make it a bit simpler. Check it out and submit your Q2 2026 charity here.
  • If you submitted a charity for Q1 but were not selected, we’ll reach out to determine if you want to be considered for the next quarter without having to resubmit the form.
