At our Spring meeting we learned about three incredible charitable organizations all taking place here in the CLE! Presented at the meeting by Natalie Leek was Rising Heights, then Aluminum Cans for Burned Children, presented by Danni Bennett and lastly Jane Cawley presented Shalom and Tranquility Garden Network, for whom the membership voted to support this quarter. The Shalom and Tranquility Garden was created by Ebonie Joiner who has been an advocate for her community and wanted to make a difference (sound familiar?). A mother of two special needs children in a neighborhood with limited exposure to the value of eating home grown food, Ebonie wanted to have a space for all types of families to be educated about nutritious food and healthy eating habits while building community within, and all while sharing in the shalom (peace) the garden brings.
