Our fourth quarterly meeting was a huge success with the addition of 16 new members. Even though many of our members were off on spring break (somewhere sunnier than here!) we were still successful in collecting $12,000 for winning charity Maggie’s Place. Julie O’Boyle, board member and volunteer presented the charity and shared her passion for this community that provides houses of hospitality for expectant women who are alone or living on the streets. This community provides for the immediate physical and emotional needs of their mothers through a loving home, nutritious food, clothing, and support. Maggie’s Place also connects the mothers to the appropriate agencies and resources including prenatal care, health insurance, low-cost housing and educational programs.
Also at the meeting we heard from Stacy Reid as she represented the Northern Ohio Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and from Joan Ticherich who introduced the Cleveland Pregnancy Center to the membership.
