Making it through our second Zoom meeting with relative ease we heard from three great charities! We listened to presentations from House of Champions presented by Laura Connelly, HOLA Ohio, by Danni Bennett and We Care We Share Ministries presented by Kathleen Fox. The voting was, not surprisingly, very close between the three, but the majority vote went to WCWS Ministries. We Care We Share serves to support the citizens of Lorain County operating a food pantry and clothing closet and working on a workforce development program which includes a professional computer lab, online training program, and job coaching. Our donation of $11,750 will support their new program called “My House” which will provide services for young men (18-21) touched by foster care. This program will offer transitional housing, mentoring, education, tutoring, and resources to other agencies who can assist.
