At our Spring meeting we learned about three very awesome local charities. The one the received the most votes was actually for a charity that we have learned about before. Thanks to the wonderful presentation by Deb Pence-Meyenberg our Spring donation will go to America Scores Cleveland. America SCORES Cleveland has an innovative tri-curricular approach that teaches kids how physical activity creative expression and teamwork nurtures a strong body, mind and character. Through daily, team-based soccer and writing workshops and annual community service projects, SCORES measurably improves fitness, literacy and communications skills, and empowers kids to create change in their communities. Our chapter has donated $13,900 so far in furthering the mission of America SCORES!
We also learned about GiGi’s Playhouse Down Syndrome Achievement Center from Missy Gibel and about the Cleveland Rockin’ Wildcats – American Special Hockey Assn. from Julie Nader – thank you ladies, and everyone, please take some time to learn about these wonderful charities as I am sure we will hear from these ladies again!
