Our October meeting was very emotional and was well attended! Emotional, partly because we had members from the Special Stars come to say thank you to the membership for our donation to their group and also because the presenter of this meeting’s selected charity burst into tears (running mascara!) as we announced her charity. Pass the tissues please! The selected charity is Forever Home Adoptions presented by member Tracy Smuts. This organization is a Christian based adoption agency founded in 2008 and was licensed in July 2011 by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services to participate in adoption work. Forever Home Adoptions, providing services to families in Northeast Ohio, is an agency that operates free of any fees. Their expenses associated with the work they do is entirely covered through donations and grants and now our donation of $11,925 plus matching contributions will her Forever Home Adoptions carry on.
Also presented at the meeting was the Cuyahoga County Community Gardens presented by Katherine Geralds and the local chapter of Reach Out and Read Greater Cleveland presented by Lynn Wieland.
