Announcing our Two for One Special‼️
That is, TWO great charities our chapter voted to support for our July meeting. The MetroHealth’s Helping Hand Fund and The Diversity Center of Northeast OH – two great organizations working hard to support Clevelanders during these challenging times. Our chapter donated a combination of $12,050 to support these charities carry out their mission. 🌻
The MetroHealth Helping Hand Fund through the Institute of H.O.P.E., was established to coordinate efforts to assist under served individuals in our community under quarantine or who are at elevated risk of contracting COVID-19. Among the many things donations to this Fund provides is meals for the homeless who are medically quarantined in hotels, youth face masks, care packages for homeless shelters and crisis centers, daily Grab and Go lunches for kids, art supplies and games for kids in shelters (can no longer share), and support for school health sponsored free immunizations and wellness exams via a mobile van.❤️
The Diversity Center of Northeast Ohio, a long established organization dedicated to eliminating bias, bigotry and racism in our community, advocates for understanding through education and training. They look to invest in our next generation with their School & Youth Program which helps to create school cultures where all students feel empowered, connected, respected, and valued. Donations to the Center will help them create virtual versions of four of their core “YouLEAD” programs. These virtual programs will enable The Diversity Center to continue educational training in a blended manner of online education, and when safe to do so, face-to-face training in schools. The Center expects this enhancement of their School & Youth Program will expand the number of children served.📚💕
